Rejuvenation = Heaven

I was invited for my first ever Thai Massage last night at the new Rejuvenation in downtown Scottsdale on 5th Avenue.  I have to admit - I was very skeptical about the whole thing after reading through their web site and looking at some of the massage photos.  I am a bit of a massage amateur to say the very least (having only gotten about three massages in my life so far) and hadn't realized what was involved with a thai massage when I had accepted their invitation.  The massage treatments I had had in the past were traditional swedish massages where you get naked or nearly naked in my case (since my undies never leave my body:)) and there are lots of oils and lotions involved.  But, from what I could tell and read about thai massage and after asking some friends about them as well, it looked like I could possibly turn out like a pretzel before it was over.  It seemed to involve a lot of stretching and flexing and I am the most non-flexible person I know.  So, with all this in mind, I still kept a very, very open mind since this new business had been so kind as to invite me for a complimentary massage.  I could handle a little pretzel-twisting - I was tough!  And, come to find out, it was the best massage I think I have ever gotten!  Gabriel, my massage therapist, was great and told me all about what to expect.  He explained the massage as being like yoga, just without having to do all the work yourself.  I even got to wear these great massage pants and shirt (so double-plus for me since I don't like the whole naked thing with other massages!) AND there were no oils, lotions or anything used to perform the massage, aside from his hands and feet!  It was awesome and I felt great and was pretzel-free afterwards.  It was so nice and relaxing and took away all my stress!  I give it two thumbs-up and highly recommend thai massage.  It's my new favorite de-stress treatment and I'll be back to Rejuvenation before too long!  Thanks Gabriel, Laura and Linda for having me over!  Oh and thanks for that yummy chocolate candy too!  It was a great way to end my enjoyable experience:).
